Our Vision

The Vision of the Imaging Sciences & Technology Academy is to be a pre-eminent digital communications and technology program. It is designed to prepare students from diverse backgrounds for productive careers by providing them with a student-centered, particularly focused college prep, quality learning experience.

Our Misison

The mission of the Imaging Sciences & Technology Academy is to graduate well-educated life-long learners who are prepared to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing, increasingly complex world. This will be accomplished through:

  • A qualified faculty and administration who work together and care about students and their success.
  • A dynamic, up-to-date integrated curriculum that has an optimal balance between theory and practice.
  • A technology laboratory, computer facilities, and instructional classrooms on par with any esteemed high school digital communications and technology program in the nation.
  • Unique co-curricular opportunities for students such as participation in student design competitions, academic and technical competitions and festivals, technical organizations, and pre-professional work experience.
  • Opportunities for academy students to participate in diverse culturally integrated projects.
  • Mutually beneficial partnerships with area industry, which take advantage of our location in one of the most concentrated, highly scientific and technical centers in the world.
  • Strong cooperative relationships with local businesses, industries, universities, and community colleges.
  • A continuing adherence to the career performance standards as outlined in SCANS (The Secretary's Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills)
