Since 1981, MAHS - College Prep Magnet students, faculty and staff have enjoyed an extended history of academic success while taking advantage of the close relationship Manual Arts HS has shared Celebrating a Century of Education with the University of Southern California.
As one of the USC Family of Schools, College Prep Magnet students participate in numerous extra-curricular activities including: the Academy of Finance; USC Educational Talent Search; USC Upward Bound; USC; School of Medicine: Med-Corp; USC School of Music: JazzReach; USC School of Law: USC Joint Educational Projects and many more interesting areas of educational and career exploration.
Our Magnet students experience academic support from One Voice Scholarship program placing students in prestigious Colleges and Universities across the country; Constitutional Rights Foundation; Woodcraft Rangers; and endless community internship programs.
With an on-time graduation rate averaging 94% over the past seven years, College Prep Magnet alumni are currently in undergraduate and Masters programs at public and private institutions such as: Yale University, Stanford University, Georgetown University, Bucknell, St. Olaf University, Dartmouth University, Spellman University, Xavier University, Berkelee College of Music, the Claremont Colleges, University of Southern California, Barnard, Pitzer, Franklin & Marshall, all University of California (UC) campuses, and most California State University (CSU) campuses.
Manual Arts HS has always had the motto: "It Can Be Done" to which our College Prep Magnet students have added a phrase "It Can Be Done" and "We're Doing It".
